April and I have gotten a little hooked on the first season of Wonder Woman. The clothes, the moves, the lasso, the tiara. 1976 was the year of great television and the beginning of girl power on TV.
Oh, D'Arcy... this was my FAVORITE show when I was in the 5th grade. I REALLY thought I was Wonder Woman. I had the moves downpat (of course, I didn't have the outfit)... I used to brush my long dark hair like hers, and I even used to pretend I had that magic lasso that made people tell the truth.
Of COURSE I played Wonderwoman as a girl. She was the was.
By the time I was ten years old, I was creating my own comic book superheroine. Her name was Ultra Woman. I think I only got two pages drawn, but I still remember her.
I'm really glad this is a world where girl superheroes are normal. I thank the media for Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Rogue and Elastigirl and The Cheerleader and all of them.

LOVED that show. LOVED it. :)
Thanks for the blast from the past!

Rock on Supergirls.
You are are in the same league as Super Woman my Super Nova friend.
That prior comment was from me not Maya - she keeps logging on and not logging off and shows up as the commentator. Sorry D'Arcy.
Although I reckon Maya thinks your pretty super as well <:
D'Arcy,
There was even a REALLY bad super-heroine duo called "Elektra Woman and Dyna Girl" (take off on Batman and Robin) in the 70's too....
VERY badly acted, campy, corny... I'd forgotten all about it until just now! I wonder if it's on You Tube??
I was really fascinated by Wonder Woman when I was a little girl. But mostly I think I was fascinated with her costume. And her boobies.
Now that I'm grown and have my own boobies, I'm less fascinated.
Oh, who am I kidding. I'm still fascinated. I wish I had some boobies like hers.
Jenn, you are so cute. :)
I remember being little and being SO excited about (one day) getting boobies.
Now they just get in my way.... LOL....
Seriously! Agreed. WW is stacked quite nicely.
I do love mine though, they are one of my favorite things about my body!
