The Best Thing About Family Reunions

Is that I get to snap photos of my beautiful cousins, even if they don't know it. You can see continuous coverage of the next few days at my photo blog.

Tena Koe D'Arcy,
Had a look at your photos. Very cool and I especially like the black and white ones. I am into them at the moment for some reason. I guess as it adds an element of imagination and focus to your subjects. Kia ora.

I love to capture subjects mid-laugh. It's like capturing the essence of happiness... you have done a fantastic job showing the light in your cousins' eyes. They'll love you for the images.

BTW: I bought the lens. Right before I dropped it... Holy mother of GOD! I was screaming in the middle of the store... NO! NO! NO! Luckily, it fell with the styrofoam packaging. No damage. Just drama.

I'd leave a longer comment but I'm so worn out..... this puppy is running me ragged.....

great photos, d'arcy! i wanted to ask you if you've ever taken a class, read books, or have you figured stuff out on your own? because you're good, girl.

Beautiful, as usual! I love the shots mid-laughter.

I love what you wrote on Gustav's blog about the Age of Aquarius. I hope you had a beautiful solstice.

Robb--I agree, I have always been drawn more to the simplicity of the black and white photos than any other.

Sugar--Awesome on the lens! I need to start getting my lenses better too! And girl, I have dropped my nikon so many times! I think it adds that vintage look I so like.

HWHL: Diva is worth the runaround!

jo--no classes, one book, bought a few others to read, I really would be so much better if I understood exposure better and so many other things...this talent is definitely in its beginning stages.

Opheila--thank you, it was actually my friend who wrote it on the invitation she sent me. I had a beautiful solstice with really authentic and amazing women. I love what you said on Gustav's blog too, it really is a smaller world when we all get to connect through this virtual medium!

I am so surprised to learn (from your comment) that you have no official training in photography! I just assumed b/c you are SO talented. We will definitely have to discuss a business transaction after baby is born for some photos. I'm serious; you seem to capture something special about people.

Stina, I would be honored! We could do some beautiful outside photos, but maybe a few in my mock studio with a black background too, we'll get the whole family in on it!
